The staff there are kind compassionate individuals who care about the cats. Although there's a ticket fee to hang out with the cats for a hour, there's complimentary tea to go with your admission. The environment there is just as peaceful and relaxing as walking into a yoga studio.

Any cat lover, especially if you're on a trip far away from your own furry friend, can not pass up an opportunity to spend an hour petting, holding or playing with a dozen or so cats, some residents of the place and some rescue cats waiting to be adopted. For $20 you can enjoy the company of these friendly creatures, have some tea and nibble on garlic bread and cheese.

This place is amazing!! All the cats are very friendly, one of them got on my shoulder and they just love to be pet. We went in at 10 am :)

For 27 an hour, you can have unlimited amounts of tea while relaxing in a comfy, fluffy room with a lot of cats. This one hour I spent here brought me to peace with the world, yet left me wanting only to pet more cats. Would highly recommend.

The cats were cute, but some were a little stand offish and you were competing with the other guests for their affection. The main guy also talked more about himself and his job than the cats virtually the entire time we were in there. Good concept but I won’t be back.

Great service! Foods and drinks were yummy and OK. Besides, the waiter that served my order was very accommodating and nice. Honestly, their cafeteria was a very good place to visit, for it was clean, comfortable, and stylish. Next time, I will surely come back here to eat delicious food. Thank you so much. I enjoyed it!

A top place for tasty Cafe food. Normally I would have posted a pic but food looked so good I couldn't stop. Fast, efficient, and courteous service. Bring your appetite because portions are large.

Super cute cats! We made a reservation online and paid online. Our time slot was at 3PM and unfortunately most of the kitties were napping at this time. I think these cats get a lot of visitors and are pretty aloof towards people. They won't approach you but you're free to pet them. It is a little pricier but I understand why. It's still a one time visit for me, as I'm not usually in the area.

Loved it. I've wanted to go here for a while now. I went on a first date (is that weird??) and it was strange and fun. The tea was nice, most of the cats were sunbathing. There were a lot of little girls and their moms (I suppose it's a fresh take on "tea time") - all cat lovers should check this place out! Definitely make a reservation before you go.

It's been about a couple of years since my two cats passed, so hanging out with all these beautiful, friendly cats was a heart warming experience. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. Next time I will try for the first spot in the morning. Around 1 pm is nap time 😁

What more pleasant way to spend an hour than sipping tea while surrounded by cats? Admittedly I can do that at home, but not with as many cats as this. They do charge $20 for the experience, but that's because it's expensive to maintain a place like this.In the afternoon, which is normally quiet time for cats, the cats lounge around, and are rather used to all the attention, but it's nice enough. The lounge is large, and holds up to about 12 people at a time. There are some mats on the floor for the cats to claw at, but the floor is otherwise hardwood, so since shoes are not allowed inside, people with trouble walking on hard surfaces may want to bring house slippers; I think those would be allowed. Also the tea is good. There were four types of varietal Japanese green tea in pots on a shelf in the lounge, accompanied by a sheet describing the flavor of each. Very pleasant sipping. Pastries may also be had, but outside the cat lounge.

A calming place to visit. If you have anxiety or even have fear of cats, this is a great place to go so you can observe them through window and see how they behave in a tranquil place. Quiet. Clean. Amazing tea!

Amazing cat cafe. The cats are super friendly and they are BEAUTIFUL. If you’re looking to spend an hour of petting and playing with cats while enjoying 4 different bottomless teas, this is the best place to visit.

I've been meaning to come here for so long. It's one of a kind in San Francisco. There was a section for just eating and then you can pay for $20 to spend an hour in the cat room. I only did an hour in the cat room, and did not eat the food. With the entry, there are four green teas in the room that you can drink unlimited. There were about 10-15 cats in the area. Most of them were sleepy and a lot more calm than I thought. They all seemed really happy and well-cared for. Only one cat was in a mood and hissed at everyone. They have permanent resident cats, but cats with collars are adoptable. It was a super relaxing time and I would love to go again.

Wonderful place! I loved being able to spend time petting and playing with so many wonderful cats. This is a great experience that I highly recommend. They have some tasty baked goods as well!If you're looking to adopt a cat, some of the ones here are up for adoption, so if you find a match you might be able to take it home. And if you're not looking to adopt, spending time with cats is still wonderful, and the cost goes to supporting the cats and helping this place stay in business and shelter the cats who do need adoption. You get to play with cats, support their wellbeing, the cats get to be played with and petted, and the cats who need adoption have increased chances over being unseen at a shelter. It's a win-win-win-win!

Wonderful customer service accompanying a refreshing change of speed from a normal busy day. The cats were all very friendly and loved to be the center of attention. I booked an hour visit online and it was worth every penny.

This has to be one of the cutest trends to happen ever. It's an adorable cafe with a really cozy tea shop right next to the cat lounge. The bottomless tea came with the $25/person reservation and the cats were really cute, but it's still on the pricey side of kitty experiences. The cats have definitely been more socialized and possibly have spent too much time being petted to be super excited to see you, but when you get past that, it was still a pretty therapeutic experience if you normally don't have pets. The service was great nevertheless and tea was not bad. I certainly can't afford to come here all the time, but I'm glad I could experience it at least once!

Had a great time today with my friend. If you are a cat lover this place is a must. If you are not a cat lover you can still enjoy the cafe. I really felt that the cat cafe was a great experience. The staff was friendly and the cats are well taken care of and are very happy. The tea was good and I think it was worth the $20.00 per person entrance fee. For anyone complaining- these people are located in Hayes Valley. Having a shop open in San Francisco is very expensive. Also, I went to the bathroom (which was super clean) noticed they feed their cats really high quality food. I know, I have 2 cats myself. 5 stars to these people. Thanks for the iced tea ❤

The staff were super welcoming and described everything very well. The cats were similarly welcoming and were super entertaining to watch.

Questions & Answers

Yes. But it's not included in the price of admission. Only teas.

yep!

With claws

I believe you can just stop by the cafe for a coffee, but you have to make reservation online (and pay)to spend time with the kitties. There is a separate room.

We did a little shopping at the gift shop, so was closer to $40

They didn't have any hairless kitties at the time we were there. They take in rescue cats, so not sure they would ever have a hairless, not many of that breed out on the streets.

No, they have some that are there permanently, and sometimes cats have been adopted but just not picked up yet. I forget how much adoption costs, sorry.

They stay there for coffee and to play with cats.

Yep!
